What an honour to be at the switch from AM to FM party at Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC)’s Perth studio this evening! An historic event, after broadcasting in AM for 102 years!

Initially 6WF, ABC Perth was established by Westralian Farmers (now Wesfarmers) and has been broadcasting since June 1924.

Congratulations to the team at ABC Perth for also successfully hosting a live broadcast from the Murray St mall for 13 hours today 😱.

Apparently Mark Gibson was told by an avid listener this is the longest ongoing live outside broadcast in WA radio history and the first time a radio station has switched to FM live on WA radio in 30 years.
